Workshops · verifiable certificates · live playground

Training that leaves you something to hold.

Hands-on engineering workshops delivered with partner colleges. When the workshop ends, IDS issues your certificate straight to your e-IDStack wallet as a verifiable credential — with a QR code anyone can scan to read it.

  • Certificates issued to your wallet
  • QR readable on any phone
  • Run at your college

What we teach

Four disciplines, one way of teaching them

Every workshop is hands-on and delivered on your campus or online with your cohort. Your college's organiser picks the topic and the dates.

Blockchain & Web3

Consensus, smart contracts and the cryptography underneath — built and broken by hand rather than described on slides.

Ground covered

  • Hash chains and consensus
  • Smart contracts in Solidity
  • Wallets and key custody
  • Verifiable credentials

Cyber Security

Threat modelling, applied cryptography and secure engineering practice, taught from the attacker's side first.

Ground covered

  • Threat modelling
  • Applied cryptography
  • Auth and session design
  • Secure code review

Web & Platform

Modern application engineering end to end: the rendering model, the data layer, and the boundary between them.

Ground covered

  • TypeScript at depth
  • API and data modelling
  • Rendering and caching
  • Tests that hold up

AI & Machine Learning

Working with models as components — prompting, evaluation, and the engineering around a system that is allowed to be wrong.

Ground covered

  • LLM application design
  • Retrieval pipelines
  • Evaluation harnesses
  • Guardrails and fallbacks

Syllabi are written per cohort. Tell us what your department needs if it is not here.

Where colleges train engineers who can prove it

Departments schedule the workshop, we deliver it on campus or online, and every learner walks away with a credential that verifies without anyone having to vouch for it.

The outcome

A certificate nobody has to confirm for you

It is signed by the issuer and held in your wallet, so an employer checks it directly. No email to a registrar, no waiting on us.

  • Held in your own wallet

It stays yours — nothing depends on this website staying up.

  • Tamper-evident by design

Any alteration breaks the signature, so a forged copy fails the check.

  • A QR code anyone can read

Scan the certificate's QR with any phone camera to see its details — no app or website needed.

How it works

From workshop to verifiable certificate

Four steps, and the last one leaves you with proof you own rather than a PDF someone else has to vouch for.

STEP 01

Your college partners with us

IDS schedules a workshop with your department and sets the course, dates and trainer.

STEP 02

You attend the workshop

Sessions run on campus or online. Your coordinator shares the details with the cohort — there is no account to create.

STEP 03

IDS issues your certificate

After the workshop, the IDS team issues certificates to the whole cohort from the participant list your college confirms.

STEP 04

Accept it in your wallet

You receive an invitation for the e-IDStack wallet. Accept it, and the certificate — QR code included — is yours to keep.

What is on every certificate

Your wallet draws the QR code from the certificate itself, so it never points to a website — whoever scans it reads the details straight off your screen.

  • A unique certificate ID

Every certificate gets its own ID, generated at the moment it is issued.

  • A QR code anyone can scan

Point any phone camera at it and the certificate details appear as plain text — no app, no website, no login.

  • No details behind a link

The QR carries the details itself. We do not keep a copy of what is on your certificate, so there is nothing online to leak.

  • Signed by IDS

The credential is cryptographically signed, so anyone can confirm it came from IDS and has not been altered.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

If something here does not match what you are seeing, tell us — an answer that is out of date is a bug.

How do I join a workshop?
Through your college. IDS schedules the workshop with your department, and your coordinator shares the dates and the venue or joining link with the cohort. There is no public booking page and no account to create, which is why nothing on this site is browsable.
Why is there no course catalogue to browse?
Because a course here is not something you can buy a seat in. Courses are syllabi; a workshop is one delivery of a course, at one college, on set dates, for a set number of people. Listing them publicly would advertise something a visitor has no way to join. If your department wants a topic delivered, that starts as a conversation with us, not a checkout.
How do I get my certificate?
After the workshop, the IDS team issues certificates to the whole cohort using the participant list your college confirms. You receive an invitation — by email, or as a QR code to scan — that adds the certificate to your e-IDStack wallet. If yours has not arrived, ask your coordinator to check that your name and email are on the list.
Do I need an account on this site?
No. Participants never sign in here — sign-in is for the IDS team that runs workshops and issues certificates. Everything you receive lives in your wallet.
What does the QR code on my certificate do?
It holds the certificate’s details — your name, the workshop, the certificate ID and the issuer — as plain text. Your wallet draws it on screen from the certificate itself, so anyone who scans it with a phone camera sees those details directly. It does not open a website, and we do not store your details behind it.
Can a certificate be changed after it is issued?
No. Once a certificate is in your wallet it cannot be edited, which is what makes it trustworthy. If something is wrong — a misspelt name, for example — tell your coordinator and IDS will issue a corrected one.
What does verifiable actually mean here?
Your certificate is cryptographically signed by its issuer. Anyone you show it to can check two things independently: who issued it, and that it has not been altered since. They do not need an account. For a quick check, they can also enter the certificate ID on the verify page — a forged ID simply is not found.
What happens to my certificate later?
It keeps working. The credential lives in your wallet, not in our database — we do not keep a copy of what is on it. It stays yours and stays verifiable whatever happens to this website, which is most of the point of issuing it this way.
Can our college partner with you?
Yes. Partnering means we schedule workshops for your students and issue a verifiable certificate to everyone who completes one. Your institution appears on this site once its first workshop is published. Get in touch with the topic and rough cohort size and we will take it from there.
Is the playground the same as the workshops?
No — the playground is open to everyone and needs no code. It runs JavaScript, TypeScript, Python and Solidity entirely in your browser, so it is a scratchpad for trying an idea rather than a graded exercise. Nothing you run there is tied to a workshop or a certificate.
